The Enterprise Seeks New Members for Young and Early-Career Investigator (YECI) Committee - December 13, 2010

The YECI Committee of the Enterprise will be implementing several key initiatives in support of the Scientific Strategic Plan over the next few years.  The Enterprise is looking for motivated, creative and enthusiastic YECIs to join the Committee to help shape and move these initiatives forward.  The request for applications to join the Enterprise YECI Committee is below.

High school students attend AIDS Vaccine 2010 conference - December 2, 2010

The AIDS Vaccine 2010 conference welcomed six 10th grade students from the Cesar Chavez Public Charter High School for Public Policy in September.   The students and their teachers travelled from Washington, DC to Atlanta, Georgia to attend the conference.  The 10th graders to attend the conference, interact with global health experts and learn about the progress and challenges in developing an HIV vaccine.  

Harvard CFAR and Ragon Institute to Host AIDS Vaccine 2012 - December 1, 2010

The Enterprise announced that the Harvard Center for AIDS Research (Harvard CFAR) and the Ragon Institute of Massachusetts General Hospital, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and Harvard University will serve as the Local Host of AIDS Vaccine 2012.  The conference will be held 9 - 13 September 2012 in Boston, Massachusetts.  The full announcement is below.

Enterprise Applauds iPrEx Study Partners and Volunteers – Study adds to Most Promising Period in HIV Prevention Research Since Epidemic Began - November 23, 2010

The Global HIV Vaccine Enterprise released a statement today on the announcement of the results of the first study of oral pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) for HIV prevention in humans.  "The iPrEx study, is a very important addition to what is the most promising 15 months in the field of HIV prevention research since the epidemic began 27 years ago."  The full statement is available below.

Enterprise Statement on the Resignation of Dr. Margaret Johnston from NIAID - November 11, 2010

The Council of the Global HIV Vaccine Enterprise issued the below statement today regarding the resignation of one of its founding members, Dr. Margaret (Peggy) Johnston, from the Vaccine Research Program at the U.S. National Institute of Allery and Infectious Diseases.

AIDS Vaccine 2010 Effective Community Engagement in HIV Biomedical Research - October 6, 2010
