Dr. Punnee Pitisuttithum

Dr. Punnee Pitisuttithum she joined Mahidol University in 1985. She is also the principal investigator for HIV vaccine, HPV vaccine, Shigella vaccine, Flu vaccine, and Dengue vaccine projects at the Vaccine Trial Centre. Her main interests are infectious-disease vaccines and drug development. She has also been involved in cholera, malaria, poliomyelitis, and rotavirus vaccines, since 1986. Dr. Punnee has published over 100 articles on HIV/AIDS & HPV in peer-reviewed scientific journals. Her academic appointments include membership of the WHO-UNAIDS HIV Vaccine Advisory Committee (VAC), the subcommittee of the IAVI Clinical Trial, and the Ad Hoc Advisory Group of The Global HIV Vaccine Enterprise. She has also served as a Temporary Advisor for the WHO-UNAIDS informal consultation on various vaccines. She is a member of the Royal College of Physicians of Thailand (RCPT). Dr. Punneeā€™s educational qualifications include a Diploma from the Thai Board of Internal Medicine, Thai Medical Council, a postgraduate Diploma in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (DTM&H) from the Faculty of Tropical Medicine, Mahidol University, Thailand, and a MBBS from Lady Hardinges Medical College, Delhi, India.
