What are the goals of AIDS Vaccine?
The annual AIDS Vaccine conference brings together scientists, community advocates, funders, and policy makers from around the world to present cutting-edge scientific results, exchange new ideas, educate future leaders, and engage a diverse community of scientists in the quest for an HIV vaccine. Organized annually by the Global HIV Vaccine Enterprise, the goals of the meeting are to:
- provide a venue for an international exchange of information in HIV Vaccine research and development
- cross-fertilize scientific areas of research
- increase coordination and ongoing communication among international groups
- and monitor ongoing progress in the field
I registered for the conference but am unable to attend. Can my registration fee be refunded or can I transfer my registration to someone else?
Cancellations received by 19 August 2011 will be refunded less a $100 administrative fee. No refunds will be given for cancellations received after 19 August. Substitutions requests must be receive in writing by Tamara Muldoon at Register@ConferenceSolutionsInc.com.
How do I attain a letter of invitation to assist with my visa application?
Persons who have registered to attend the conference may request a letter of invitation for use in visa applications. Email a request to Register@ConferenceSolutionsInc.com and include the following information: Name, Date of Birth, Passport Number, and Nationality.
I cannot attend the conference; however, a co-author on my abstract will be attending in my place. What do I need to do to have the presentation transferred to a co-author?
Email Karly Kopra at Karly@ConferenceSolutionsInc.com with the abstract ID number, submission title and name of the author who will be presenting the abstract. You will receive an email confirming your abstract has been updated. All changes must be requested prior to Friday, 1 July to ensure the abstract is not pulled from publication.
When will the abstracts be available to the general public?
Abstracts will not be available prior to the conference. Abstracts will be available online in an open-access supplement in AIDS Research and Human Retroviruses at the conclusion of the conference.
How do I apply for a scholarship to attend the conference?
The deadline to submit a scholarship application was Friday, 8 April 2011.
I received a scholarship but am unable to attend the conference. Can I transfer my scholarship to someone else in my lab?
No. All AIDS Vaccine scholarships are non-transferable.
I only plan on attending a satellite session. Do I need to register for the conference?
Conference registration is not required to attend a satellite session. Satellite session attendance policies are established by the session organizer. Click here (link to satellite page, when live) to review the schedule and attendance policies of the satellite sessions.
