Scholarships
AIDS Vaccine 2012 is pleased to award 120 scholarships and five new investigator awards to HIV vaccine researchers from around the world. We thank our generous sponsors for enabling these researchers and students to participate in the conference. Click here to view our conference scholars
Conference Scholarship
To be considered for a scholarship, applicants must submit a statement describing their career interests, reasons for attending the conference and need for financial assistance. Applicants must be graduate students, fellows or junior faculty within three years of their faculty appointment. Preference is given to applicants who are presenting work at the conference. See application for detailed eligibility requirements.
If selected, scholars will be awarded:
- Complimentary conference registration;
- Airline ticket (coach class / non refundable);
- Four (4) nights lodging at the conference venue.
New Investigator Awards
Up to five New Investigator Awards will be presented to conference scholarship applicants who are first authors on an accepted abstract. Awards are selected based on the quality and relevance of the submitted abstract and are chosen out of the pool of conference scholarship applicants. New Investigator Award
- All the benefits of a conference scholarship, plus:
- Oral presentation of accepted abstract;
- $1,000 award presented to the awardee at conference registration.
Conference scholarships and New Investigator Awards do not include transportation to and from the airport or a per diem stipend.
Policy
Scholarships are awarded to the individual and are non-transferable. All scholarships will be awarded based on the availability of funds.
By accepting funding, you consent to the distribution of your email address to a scholarship funding organization. Scholars selected for sponsorship by a conference partner will be indicated as such in the abstract book. Email addresses will not be distributed for any reason other than for AIDS Vaccine scholar-partner communications.
