A ‘dance’ before a trial begins

The blog Science Speaks: HIV &TB News published a profile of Col. Nelson L. Michael, who is in charge of the U.S. Military HIV Research Program (MHRP) at the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research. Michael has visited Mozambique several times to discuss with Mozambique’s National Institute of Health about a potential HIV vaccine clinical trial to begin in 2014. It is not yet known what type of trial will be conducted, according to Science Speaks. “Mozambique already has a core of strong physician-researchers. We think by 2014, we can conceive a large-scale efficacy trial. It will be exciting,” Colonel Michael said. Read the full article here.
