The Vaccine Research team is part of the Innovation and Discovery Laboratory department, which focuses on the development of novel vaccines against infectious diseases. The Preclinical Immunology group within vaccine research is evaluating vaccine candidates against infectious diseases in the appropriate animal models. Vaccine candidates are evaluated based on their disease specific immunogenicity.

Job Description:

Within a team you will be performing the immunological evaluation of potential vaccine candidates. Techniques that will be used include tissue culture, FACS analysis, ELISA, ELISPOT, PCR, animal handling and virology-related assays. The position requires planning and performing of experiments, followed by data analysis and reporting of the data to the responsible scientist.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • You have an HLO or MSc degree in a life science related field and are certified to perform animal experiments (Art. 9 or Art. 12; preferably with hands-on experience). Candidates with a MSc degree willing to obtain the Art. 9 certificate are also encouraged to apply.
  • Experience with (in vivo) immunological techniques are required. 
  • Experience with molecular biological techniques or/and virological assays is preferred.


The right candidate is flexible, meticulous, shows initiative and able to work as part of a team. Planning, organization and communication are important for this position; therefore excellent Dutch and English communication skills are required
