Innovation and Discovery Laboratories (I&DL)
The suitable candidate will be working in the Protein Sciences group within the Pre-Clinical and Clinical Research group of the I&DL department. The Protein Sciences group is involved in the generation of stable cell lines of PER.C6® cells expressing monoclonal antibodies against infectious diseases and the manufacturing and characterization (USP, DSP and Analytical Assays) of material for proof of concept studies in animal models.

Job Description:

The activities in our group are focused on the analytical characterization of monoclonal antibodies and the implementation and development of analytical assays. This internship will focus on three major issues: 

  • Applying analytical assays to comprehensively characterize mAbs and identify process dependent modifications in their biophysical properties ;
  • Formulation and stability studies to identify the optimal formulation for the mAb drug candidate;
  • Addressing limitations in analytical assays – method development.
  • Analytical assays include Chromatography methods (SEC, Reversed Phase, etc), Asymmetric Flow Field-Flow Fractionation, Multi angle and Dynamic Light Scattering, Differential Scanning Calorimetry, Capillary Electrophoresis, Circular Dichroism, Fluorescence and Mass Spectrometry.
ELIGIBILITY

Minimum Qualifications:

Master/bachelor student in biophysical, (bio)chemical, biomedical, pharmaceutical or similar field
Experience with proteins and/or analytical assays
Independent and pragmatic 
Sociable character
40Hrs/week for 6 months or more
